Thailand Ups Demand for Lao Energy

A Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU ) on Energy Cooperation was signed between the Lao Government and the Thai Government on 22/12/2007. The MOU calls for Laos to provide 7,000 MW of energy to Thailand after 2015. This MOU replaced the MOU signed on 18/12/2006, which specified that Lao will export electricity to Thailand up to year 2015, about 5,000 MW in capacity. Dr Bosaikham Vongdara Minister of Ministry of Energy and Mines was signed this new MOU on behalf of Lao Government and Dr Piyasavasi Amaranand Minister of Ministry of Energy was signed on behalf of Thai Government.
